The Dental Assistance Program assists applicants who are currently experiencing acute dental pain. This service allows for up to five teeth to be extracted or filled by a participating dentist with the applicant paying a $20 copay to the Christian Service Center. Applicants are only eligible for up to five teeth extractions or fillings in each of the 2 patient visits (if applicable) within the 12-month period from time of approval by the county.
The applicant:
- Must be a resident of Taylor County
- Must be at 300% or less of the Federal Poverty Level
Taylor County Social Services processes each application for eligibility and then forwards the application to the Christian Service Center for follow-up dental screening and scheduling.
Applications can be picked up at the Christian Service Center, Taylor County Social Services at 400 Oak St. #202, or the Abilene-Taylor County Public Health Dept at 850 N 6th St.
