“Sharing Christ’s love by providing basic needs and a fresh start”

Christian Service Center of Abilene Building Burns, Relocates to Temporary Space

A firefighter takes a break after spending hours fighting the blaze on April 2.

Volunteers and staff put up our sign in front of the temporary building.

The Abilene Firefighters enjoy a “thank you” meal hosted by our staff and board.

On April 2, 2016 the Christian Service Center of Abilene was destroyed by fire. No one was in the building during the fire and there were no injuries. However, the ministry suffered total loss of all office supplies, furnishings, operational equipment and basic needs supplies for our neighbors.

CSC offices are now temporarily relocated to 949 Mesquite Street, (in the older Meals on Wheels building). Donations are now being accepted at our temporary warehouse location at 904 Walnut Street. The warehouse will be open Mon., Wed. & Fri. 10am – 2pm for our friends to leave donations of goods.

Since 1965, the Christian Service Center of Abilene, Inc. has been serving those in our area who struggle as a result of poverty. Though the CSC building is gone, Christian Services will continue to be provided to our neighbors.

On Monday, May 2nd, CSC reopened our doors to provide basic assistance and spiritual support. Food, school clothing, and simple essentials have resumed with a limited supply at the temporary location. Please call for appointments: 325-673-7531.

To all of you who gave so generously to our Fire Relief Fund, thank you! Your gifts helped us get back on our feet to serve the poor of Abilene.

CSC is currently in the process of renovating a building at 3185 North 10th Street which will serve as the new Christian Service Center facility. Renovations should be completed by December 2016 when CSC will move to this permanent facility. Until then, CSC will stay in our old Mesquite Street neighborhood, Sharing the Love of Christ by Providing Basic Needs and a Fresh Start.

Christian Service Center

This ministry is privileged to show the love of Jesus each weekday to those who come to us with a variety of need. Whether it’s clothing, food, household items, school supplies, a Bible or spiritual counsel and prayer -- we do all we can to let people know that God loves them and hasn’t forgotten them.
